Mid-Autumn Festival

Happy Mid-Autumn!!!

For those who don’t know, this is a Chinese celebration of harvest. It is always held on the 15th day of the eighth month in the lunar calendar which always coordinates with a full moon. During this festivity mooncakes are consumed and children play with lanterns under the light of the full moon. Rabbits and Chang’e (the goddess of the moon) are symbolic during this festival! P1040812Anywho, I’ve been craving to draw clouds FOREVER! It’s not exactly white clouds and blue sky but aren’t they cute? I have to say that the picture doesn’t do it justice (like most of my pictures recently…don’t know what the problem is…sorry!), but it’s one of my favorite creations so far!

P1040813I might post a tutorial for drawing clouds later next week so keep your eyes peeled!

Base: Gosh – tilted blue
Clouds: Maybelline – Audacious Asphalt
Bunny: SH – white tip
Moon: Nail creation – Cosmiss
Grass: D. Lippmann – mermaids dream
